Before my brother and I split apart, we were in the same school. At times, I would brag to my friends that I have a bigger brother in the hight school area. Sometimes, my friends were jealous of that and ask more about my brother. This is a flashing red light that the legal driving age should be raised. Some say that if the legal driving age was raised it would be an inconvenience to both the teen and the parent. The teen can not get an after school job because he/she has no transportation, and even if the parents are willing to chauffeur their teens around, they can not do it until they get home from work. I will admit that it is an inconvenience; however, an inconvenience today means that your child will be living tomorrow. Sixteen and seventeen year old drivers make up about two percent of the total driving population, but they are involved in one out of every seven crashes (Cohen). There are approximately 5,000 teen deaths per year related to unsafe driving (Wims). The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that A sixteen year old driver is 42 percent more likely to be involved in a crash than a 17 year old with just one additional year of driving experience (Wims). Can War Ever Be Eradicated? Our world is inherently inconsistent; it is constructed on the eternal conflict, on constant contradictions. Knowingly there black and white, the north and the south, right and left exist. Each conflict eventually expands until the time when the person cannot supervise it any more. Frequently it also leads to revolutions, wars, intestine conflicts. Throughout all world history, the person has lived for only a few years without war, he has constantly fought for the right to exist, for the freedom, land, power etc. Together with the development of the humankind, this fight became more and more rigid. At the same time, the weapon, which gradually bore more and more destructions, also developed, which made the fight crueler. War inherently does not know any winners. To some extent, everyone in it is a looser, because each side bears an enormous amount of losses: human lives, money, and territory. The conflict of individuals is an everyday occurrence in a modern life; war covers bigger am ount of people. More often it arises because of the requirement of the person to operate, and brings much more global destructions and does not influence separate people any more, but the whole society. War, as a phenomenon, cannot be eradicated, because modern processes of globalization, development of terrorism and desire of the power promote the development of war. WomenÃ¢â¬â¢s development shapes many things including our perspectives and our public policies. I will assess the contributions of the three major theoretical debates applied to the field of women and development and explain how they shaped the field. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã The first and perhaps the most dominant perspective, Women in Development (WID) stresses western values and targets individuals as catalysts for social change. The origins of this perspective came about after the release of Esther BoserupÃ¢â¬â¢s book entitled WomenÃ¢â¬â¢s Role in Economic Development. The theory points out that modernization had somehow bypassed women and that some segments actually destabilized the prevailing position of women. The theory argues that legal and administration modifications are needed to facilitate change and integrate women into economic systems. The most notable contribution of WID is that it drew attention to womenÃ¢â¬â¢s questions in the arena of development theory and practice. While WID emphasizes the productive role of women, it overlooks the direct influence of race, class and culture and it minimizes the reproductive role of women entirely. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Women and Development (WAD) emerged in the 1970Ã¢â¬â¢s; its primary basis was critiquing the earlier theory of WID. Essentially, WAD contends that economic growth and the industrialization of the West were based upon the exploitation of nations that were subjected to colonial rule. The theory focuses on the idea that countries are core, semi-peripheral and peripheral. PowerÃ¢â¬âdependency relationships are reflected in an international division of labor that encompasses each of these types. Core nations, including the major powers of Western Europe, the United States, Canada, and Japan dominate globally by virtue of their domestic and international strength. It is important to learn the most common sentence patterns in English, as most of the sentences you will hear, write, and speak will follow these basic patterns. Sentence Patterns #1 - Noun / Verb The most basic sentence pattern is a noun followed by a verb. Its important to remember that only verbs that do not require objects are used in this sentence pattern. People work.Frank eats.Things happen. This basic sentence pattern can be modified by adding a noun phrase, possessive adjective, as well as other elements. This is true for all the sentence patterns that follow. The distribution of this type of variable, referred to as the binomial distribution, is completely determined by two parameters: nÃ and p.Ã Here n is the number of trials and p is the probability of success. The tables below are for n 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The probabilities in each are rounded to three decimal places. Before using the table, it is important to determine if a binomial distribution should be used.
